A budget is the first thing to get right before applying for a loan. Lenders look closely at living expenses and will compare what you declare against your bank statements, so knowing your real numbers puts you in a stronger position.
Enter your income and regular costs: housing, groceries, transport, insurance, utilities, subscriptions and any debt repayments. The planner shows what is left each month and where the larger amounts are going. Small recurring costs add up quickly, and they are usually the easiest to cut.
Run the planner again with your expected loan repayment included. If the surplus is thin, you will know before you apply, not after. An NLG broker can talk you through how lenders treat different expenses and what that means for your borrowing.
Results are estimates for general information only. They are not credit advice and do not take into account your objectives, financial situation or needs. Speak with an NLG broker before making a decision.
